The v11.10 patch will be the third in Fortnite since the launch of Chapter 2, following 11.00.1 and 11.01, but is expected to be the first big update of the new season.

It will launch the game’s annual Halloween-themed in-game event called Fortnitemares, which may also come with the chapter’s first new item and/or weapon addition.

You can find everything there is to know about the update below, including the release time, what to expect, and a look at whatever patch notes that have been released so far.

When does the v11.10 update go live?

Epic have announced that the v11.10 update will be release on Tuesday, October 29 at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 8 AM GMT. There will be downtime, so expect matchmaking to be disabled about 20-25 minutes before the patch goes live.

Fortnitemares event

Fortnitemares is a Halloween-themed event held in Fortnite every year. While this is the third Halloween season since the game’s release, it will be the second event that will actually go by that name.

The event will be going live on Tuesday, October 29 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 1 PM GMT, so players will have to wait a bit after the update has finished.

Last year’s Fortnitemares was jam-packed with new content as Epic added two new weapons, Six Shooter and Fiend Hunter Crossbow, the latter being used to hunt down zombie-like creatures called Cube Monsters that would spawn on the map.

Challenges were also added specially for the event, and players could complete them to unlock themed cosmetic items and new styles for outfit skins, such as the Deadfire Outfit.

While there’s no telling what Epic have in store this year, especially with how unpredictable they’ve been in Chapter 2, there is a chance fans could see the first new item and/or weapon be added since the new season kicked off.

Return of the Ghoul Trooper?

One thing that fans can be sure that Epic will add is a new set of themed cosmetic items for Fortnitemares. While any new item will undoubtedly garner a lot of attention, most of the anticipation seems to be surrounding the possible return of the ultra-rare Ghoul Trooper skin.

The skin is considered to among the rarest in Fortnite because it last featured in the Item Shop on November 28, 2017.

However, according to leaks from some prominent data-miners such as HYPEX, there are indications that the outfit could be brought back to the Shop for the first time in over 700 days.

Of course, Epic have previously set a precedent for doing that, after releasing the similarly-rare Skull Trooper during last year’s Fortnitemares, after it hadn’t been featured in over a year.

Aside from kicking off the Fortnitemares event, the v11.10 patch will also contain fixes for many of the issues, bugs, and problems currently plaguing the game.

You can find all of the details in the early patch notes below, and the full version of the notes will be available here once released by Epic Games following the update.
